About us
Istanbul Hostel is a small, independently run hostel for people who like to travel with curiosity.

Our story
We opened in an old Beyoğlu apartment building with a simple idea: a hostel should feel like staying with friends who happen to know the city very well.
Our team comes from Istanbul, Sarajevo and beyond. Between us we speak Turkish, Bosnian, English and a few phrases of everything else — enough to help you order the right breakfast and find the ferry that leaves in four minutes.
We keep the building simple and the details careful: good mattresses, clean bathrooms, honest prices and a rooftop where most friendships begin.
What we care about
Hospitality first
Every guest gets a proper welcome, a map that's actually marked up, and someone to ask.
Local, not touristy
We send you to the lokanta our neighbours eat at, not the one with a menu in eight languages.
Respect for the neighbourhood
Quiet hours, recycling, and buying from the shops on our street.
